The Golden State Theater presents family friendly flicks in a lovely setting in Oldtown Monterey. Opened in 1926, and recently restored to its original grandeur, this is one glorious place to take in a movie. The first showing on Nov 12 features "The Blindside" starring Sandra Bullock in her Academy Award winning role. Dec. 10 it visits little Macaughly Culkin doing battle against Joe Pesci and Bruce Dern in Home Alone. Jan. 14, fire up the Delorean to 88mph because we're going Back to the Future with Michael J. Fox, Christopher Plummer, Leah Thompson and Christopher Lloyd as the eccentric Doc. [DS]
