The Monterey Contemporaries, or MoCos, of the Monterey Museum of Art put on another La Mirada Lounge. The group of young people interested in the contemporary art scene periodically host these artsy parties to support the museum, discuss the latest cutting-edge art that has sliced into La Mirada's historic walls, and just have a rollicking good time. The current contemporary art installation "In Progress" by Mark Licari challenges the imagination with depictions of snakes erupting out of toilets, nervous systems sprouting out of drawers, and other disturbing juxtapositions of the natural and technological. This exhibit as well as all other rooms of the museum will be open for viewing while munching on small bites, sipping a Sierra Nevada Brew, and listening to a mix of electronica, hip hop and world music.
