It took Junot Diaz 11 years to write his 2007 novel The Brief and Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao. It all paid off once the first-time novelist took home the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Critics Circle Award for the book about a comics and sci-fi obsessed kid in New Jersey and his Dominican family. Tonight, Diaz will read from his works and answer questions from the audience as a part of CSUMB's President's Speaker Series. (See story.) [ST]
