Every now and then these Northern California guys descend on Monterey and land at Sly's, sending waves of classic R&B and rock 'n' roll out over the crowd. The band, one of whom came from famous old-school band The Whispers, have played with Tony Bennett, Ray Charles, Power of Power, James Brown and the Beach Boys. They've got chops, and, like the Ford Mustang they're named after, muscle—which they flex at the blues spot Friday and Saturday. [WR]
