Dr. Mendoza, founding faculty member of CSU Monterey Bay, dives into the archeological history behind one of the oldest buildings in Monterey County, The Royal Presidio Chapel, or San Carlos Cathedral in Monterey. Mendoza details the discoveries he and his team made—of the Missionary Quarters, the Soldiers Barracks, the adobe Sacristy. Anticipate allusions to ancient frescoes, pirate raids and sealed crypts found along the way.
