El Teatro Campesino presents a pairing of two characteristically political shows that focus on the art of the con. Set in Honest Sancho's Used Mexican Lot, Founding Artistic Director Luis Valdez's "Los Vendidos" examines the stereotyping of Latinos in California. San Francisco Mime Troupe Founder R.G. Davis directs the complimentary show "Los Olivos Pits" which he and others have adapted for the modern stage from the original 16th century Commedia dell'arte version. The original version depicted a poor family offered a too-good-to-be-true business opportunity; the modern version explores how the "American Dream" can take advatage of working class people. [MQ]
