Lovers of those antiquated volumes involving the use of more than a few vowels and consonants will have the opportunity to indulge their tastes in the New Year, as the Friends of the Monterey County Public Library holds its annual Giant Book Sale, with hundreds of high-quality books available at bargain prices. For those of you who don't know what this item refers to, you can think of what's being offered as a series of lengthy tweets, strung together into the forms of fiction, history, science and so on. Seriously, what better way to celebrate the new year than bringing in some friends who won't desert you in times of need and who offer low-cost entertainment and education options.
