Monterey Symphony's Concert Three at Sherwood Hall

Bjork isn’t the only musical talent to come out of Iceland, renowned Icelandic-American violinist Judith Ingolfsson commands the stage in Barber’s Violin Concerto with her technical mastery and majestic stage presence. Ingolfsson, winner of the Gold Medal of the International Violin Competition of Indianapolis in 1998 has played with numerous orchestras across the U.S. and abroad. The concert will be conducted by Max Bragado-Darman, music director of Monterey Symphony since 2004 and both conductor and director of one of the most prestigious symphonies in Spain. The program will feature Beethoven’s groundbreaking First Symphony as well as Rossini’s Overture to La scala di seta. The Sherwood Hall performance is followed up, as always, at Sunset Center Sunday and Monday. [MH]
