For four golden weekends, the Carl Cherry Center will host a tribute to the songwriter duo that are hailed as one of the driving forces of the Jazz age. The Gershwin brothers are responsible for many hits by Ella Fitzgerald, Tony Bennett and Fred Astaire as well as the opera Oh, Lady Be Good! Layne Littlepage performs some of their biggest numbers with piano accompaniment from Bob Phillips (July 9 - 24) and Gary Carver (July 30 - Aug. 1). The shows will be 8pm on Fridays and Saturdays and 2pm on Sundays (shows 2pm and 8pm on July 24, no show on July 25). [LC]
