Take a look at nature as it was seen through the eyes of local artist Albert T. DeRome. DeRome was an avid photographer and painter who believed in living harmoniously with nature and used that to create lush works of art. He painted several of the Museum's exhibit case backdrops which are still in use today. The artist's life and work is celebrated with an opening reception on June 19 at 5pm with wine and refreshments. DeRome's "Depicting Nature" runs from Jun 20 to Sept 11.
Sat 5pm opening reception; Tue-Sun 10am-5pm regular hours. Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History, 165 Forest Ave., Pacific Grove. Free. 648-5716. http://www.pgmuseum.org.
