Two big time film directors, Ridley Scott (Blade Runner, Black Hawk Down) and Kevin MacDonald (The Last King of Scotland), team up and invite nearly anyone across the globe to help them with thier next movie--a compilation of your own videos, shot on July 24 and uploaded to YouTube (see website below), and edited by Scott and MacDonald for a screening at next year's Sundance Film Festival. Based on the innovative A Day in the Life photo series, Life in a Day asks nascent filmmakers to capture a slice of life on July 24--though, inexplicably, entries will not be accepted from Iran, Syria, Cuba, Sudan, North Korea and Myanmar because, you know, nothing worth sharing is happening in those countries. Co-director credits will be given to those whose videos make the cut and 20 filmmakers will be flown to Sundance for the premier. No one knows what to expect. [WR]
