The British trio’s debut album turned the meek, dream-pop/electronica collective into indie megastars in a hurry. It’s hard to pin a true style of music to the xx but there is definitely a little of The Smiths with effervescent sprinklings of Radiohead’s In Rainbows. It makes sense that band founders Oliver Sim and Romy Madley Croft have known each other their entire lives: Their musical chemistry spans well beyond their young ages and often times ignites into interplanetary seascapes.
