Saxophonist/flutist Tamas Marius, also known as a faculty member at the DLI, as a member of Red Beans and Rice, and simply as "Dr. T," plays Plaza Linda with his band. Marius's love of the blues has led him to groove on the tenor sax, as well as the jazzy alto and soprano. His band, Dr. T's Jazz Connection, features all these registers as well as some punchy percussion, layering multiple patterns for a smooth, rich sound. "Squelching" sounds and bright cymbals create the dynamic feel of "Bro-hood," while "Waves" plays with catchy Cuban rhythms and "The Baron's Legacy" blends jazz, rock, and ominous classical chord progressions for a sound reminiscent of the Phantom of the Opera.
