The Shivas may be young, but they have the work ethic of seasoned musicians: In 2008, they played more than 100 shows up and down the West Coast. On their debut LP Where Have You Gone To? the quartet channels the acid wizardry of 13th Floor Elevators and the straightforward, vintage tone of The Kinks. Lead singer Jared Wait-Molyneux’s vocals echo throughout the album like psychedelic rock shamans, Roky Erickson and Syd Barrett. [AJ]
