The Trees have put in a lot of legwork; playing countless shows to make them one of the more recognized bands in the growing soon-to-be music Mecca that is Monterey County. Although originally from scattered parts of California, this psychedelic band has set their roots (zing!) in Monterey Bay and even named of the songs of their new EP after the area. Their influences range from Animal Collective to Radiohead and Tera Melos. All of their work comes to a satisfying peak as they have their CD release show at Jose's Underground Lounge: one of the places that has put them on the wall of local favorites. [LC]
