Michigan-based singer/songwriter Drew Nelson sings ironic, contemporary ballads that tell the stories of the people, like the displaced auto worker, the highway wanderers, and the farmer watching his land disappear. As he weaves these tales and the many others featured on his latest album Dusty Road to Beulah Land, his voice moans energetically atop rockin' guitar and percussion. The sweet, meditative acoustic sound of Carmel Valley's own rugged songwriter Janni Littlepage promises to compliment Nelson's work beautifully. [MQ]
