Sick of the typical guitar, bass and drums rock outfit? San Francisco's Bermuda Triangle Service add a musical saw, melodica and screwdriver (?) to the basics as they craft Mazzy Star-like slow burners including "Six Years." With seven band members, Santa Rosa's The Spindles fill out their sound, which alternates from dusty alt country to crunchy guitar rock on "Overhead Projector," with pedal steel, bass clarinet and slide trombone.
