Before going to a reunion, most people wonder what they have really accomplished in their lives. Pacific Grove author Brad Herzog decided to use the age-old literary device of 'the journey' to find his answer. As homage to the epic "The Iliad", Herzog traveled to many classically named locations in America: Athena and Troy (Oregon), Apollo (Pennsylvania), and Sparta (Wisconsin) on his way back to Ithaca (New York) for his college reunion. Along the way he meets local heroes and gains more to talk about around the punch bowl in the auditorium. The Works will be hosting an open-house style reception, reading and book signing to celebrate the launch of Herzog's new book "Turn Left at the Trojan Horse".
7-9pm. The Works, 667 Lighthouse Ave., Pacific Grove. Free. 372-2242. http://theworkspg.com/.
