In true Homeric tradition, Herzog, a Monterey native, embarks on a journey across America to discover, who else, himself in his forthcoming book, “Turn Left at the Trojan Horse.” But along the way he meets everyday heroes, Average Joes and Janes who do the epic 24/7. His stops in classically named cities (Troy, Oregon, Sparta, Wisconsin, Ithaca, New York) reveal corners of this country he never knew existed and feats of heroism hardly ever in the spotlight.
