Carla Blackwell, who made her debut at Sly's and has since graced the stage at B.B. King's Blues Club and the Monterey Bay Blues Festival, returns to the jumpin' surf-side blues club. Her cover of Rufus and Chaka Khan's "Ain't Nobody" is a sly, breezy, faithful soul tune lightly seasoned with funk. When she croons on an original song about longing, "Maybe I'll sit here with a glass of wine," you so wish you could join her. She gently rocks Sly's tonight and then doubles down on Saturday. [WR]
