This year's film festival promises to wake viewers up and get them more informed on global issues like climate change, war and peace, and nuclear weapons. Chosen from over seventy films, the thirteen film lineup represent some of the best of today, encompassing official Sundance selections and award-winning documentaries. Two films, Sun Come Up about a community of environmental refugees on Friday, and Born Sweet about a family touched by arsenic poisoning in Cambodia on Saturday are on the "Short List" of possible nominees for the 2011 Best Short Documentary Film Academy Award. These films not only inform, they captivate with beautiful scenery, uplifting music, and stories that hold the audience's interest from beginning to end. [JU]
