Ever since the eclectic Long Beach quartet Cold War Kids released its debut LP, Robbers & Cowards, they’ve been making a buzz around the indie music scene and beyond. Their music—sometimes fueled only by the elastic croons of lead singer Nathan Willett and a piano—has soulful bursts that blend modern with the old school minimal blues of greats like Son House.
