Ten P.G. inns, including some preserved and converted 19th century Victorian mansions, invite one and all to visit their decked out facades and interiors, transformed with holiday zeal in a two-day walk-about that also takes in Asilomar's Phoebe Hearst Social Hall. Tuesday's line-up includes Seven Gables, Jabberwock and The Martine Inn; Wednesday's participants range over Green Gables Inn, Old St. Angela Inn and Old Monterey Inn. On Tuesday, Steve Palumi reads excerpts from his and co-author Carolyn Stoka's new book The Death and Life of Monterey Bay: A Story of Revival at The Seven Gables Inn, which is the former home of P.G. stalwart and activist Julia Platt.
