MacDonald's works bring a touch of magic anywhere they live but there is no sleight of hand in the way he brings his sculptures, paintings and bronzed maquettes to life. It's a painstaking process that's been evolving ever since his childhood, when he was shown the power of art by his uncle, then a leading graphic designer. A California native and one of the world's greatest living sculptors, he works only with live models, capturing the essence and beauty of human form and movement. In this fall show his heroic, larger-than-life size "Leap of Faith" in bronze will be unveiled along with a major monument to classical ballet for the Royal Ballet School of London. His work has been exhibited in some of the finest galleries in the world and collected by celebrities such as as Luciano Pavarotti. MacDonald will attend the receptions on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 2-3, and a jazz band will play on Saturday. [DVD]
