Featuring classic '80s songs like "Holding Out for a Hero," "Let's Hear it for the Boy" and "Footloose" the theater adaptation of the 1984 movie musical brings back its crusade against stodgy, anti-fun, puritanical ideals in favor of the joy of song-and-dance-filled youth. The 5th Annual Gala Benefit Performance on Oct. 9 will have a downhome Southern flair with comfort food, wine, local beer and a silent auction. Proceeds go to Western Stage community programs including Young Company and Legacy Players. [DVD]
