Lifelong concert pianist Roy Eaton, now 80 years old, will give two identical performances, first on Friday at the Center for Spiritual Living, then Sunday at Carmel Valley Community Chapel in Carmel Valley Village. His first set covers The Meditative Chopin, pieces that usher "inner silence" into the room, whereby clapping is discouraged. The second set covers The Joyful Joplin, pieces by the upbeat ragtime composer and jazz pioneer, in which clapping is near compulsory. Refreshements will be served.
