The Flaming Telepaths don’t like to be thought of as a typical Blue Oyster Cult cover band. The Bay Area trio takes pride in its renditions of the more obscure music of the 70s hardrockers and the extended jams of their live shows. They don’t forget about classics like “The Red and the Black,” “Godzilla” and of course, “Don’t Fear The Reaper.” But the emphasis is on the improvisation. And there could never be enough cowbell.
