Five new exhibits prove any materials can be transformed into art. "The 21st Annual Monterey County Artists Studio Tour" features 64 artists including glass blowers, jewelers, photographers potters, wood carvers and more. "Waking John Random" shares the local artist's works made of mostly recycled materials. He's known for the fountain "Sanctuary" on Cannery Row and "Y2K" at the Henry Miller Library. "Studio Artists of the Pacific Grove" reveals behind-the-door creations with collage, fiber, hand-painted silk, needle point, etc. The "Work of Studio Artist JoAnn Kiehn" signifies fabric works of a unique colors and hand-made warmness. "The Historic Home Tour" introduces local Victorian and venerable houses. Pianist Dorothy Gerstein performs at the opening reception on Sept. 10. [AK]
