Thrilling Tales From the Horror Genre at the Carl Cherry Center

In the run up to Halloween, local movie theaters will be littered with horror flicks including Paranormal Activity 2 and Saw VII 3D, but let me suggest getting in the mood for the holiday by going back to the classic masters of the genre: Edgar Allen Poe, H.H. Munro and Shirley Jackson. Tonight, local actors Len Perry and Taelen Thomas will do readings and dramatizations from Poe, Munro and Jackson, while the Western Stage's Jeffrey T. Heyer will read an excerpt from his original play based on Frankenstein's monster. [ST]
