The tourists thin out, but not so the leaping blennies or the leopard sharks. These annual extended Saturday-Sunday hours (until 8pm rather than 6pm), which run through the end of August, include further enrichment above water, with live jazz from Monterey Jazz Festival players to accompany the jellies and wine (or beer) from the Marine Mammal Gallery to give the seahorse exhibit bonus romantic magnetism. The performers (with sidemen) lined up are Michael Glick July 31; Dave Hoffman Aug. 1, 15, 22; Roger Eddy Aug. 7; Stu Reynolds Aug. 8; Bill Spencer Aug. 14; Dave Hoffman Aug. 15 and 22; Pete Lips Aug. 21; Monterey Jazz Festival Student Combos Aug. 28 and Sept 4; Gary Meek Aug. 29; and the Monterey Bay Jazz Orchestra bringing it all down Sept. 5. Free parking in Cannery Row garages after 4pm helps locals with ID ride the tide this way.
