Gentlemen (and women), start your engines. The 11th annual Passport to Cherry’s event is roaring into town, with vintage cars, 19 participating local restaurants and a special Kids’ Zone activity center. There will be live entertainment on the street, a motorcycle show ‘n’ shine for bike owners and aficionados alike, and classic cars for every taste. The event will move on from Oldtown to an evening cruise event the next week in Old Monterey, and a performance by the Joe Sharino Band at the Festa Italia in Custom House Plaza. Saturday, Sept. 11, things heat up at Laguna Seca, with a Show ‘n’ Shine event at 5pm on Cannery Row and Pacific Grove. Then back to Seca at 7pm Sunday for a pancake breakfast, followed by a Show ‘n’ Shine, a parade of featured cars at 11:30am and Cherry’s awards announced at 1pm. Jubilee, indeed. [PW]
