As far as paper sculpture goes, this is no origami. Eleen Auvil is a Carmel sculptor and painter who normally works with bronze and copper. She now sculpts with the obscure medium of paper. Named after a formation of small ships, Flotilla includes work that incorporates odd, boat-like geometric shapes possibly to bring the feeling of air, breath and life (without it being too literal). The show runs through September 17 with an opening reception August 6. [LC]
