Sponsored by cool brands like Vans, Lucky, Hubba, Vox, Santa Cruz and more, this is the second year that On the Beach Surf Shop has run this skate jam. Monthly, it does ollies across skate parks in Castroville's North County Recreation Center (11261 Crane St.), Marina's Teen Center (304 Hillcrest Ave.) June 19 and Aug. 14, and Monterey's El Estero Park (Pearl and CAmino Aguajito) July 17 and Sept. 18 in preliminary rounds, in age groups of 8 and under, 9-12, 13-17 and 18 and older. It grinds on through Oct. 16 with the championships at Marina Skate Park. [WR]
