Line up those carpools, grab a map, plot it out and limber up: The sprawling, two-day studio tour is back. Its riches were conceived and created by nonprofits Artists Equity, with a grant from Arts Council for Monterey County, this roundup compells 63 working artists from Moss Landing to Pacific Grove to Carmel Valley to throw open their studios and play host to the public all day for conversation, observation and libation. Artists include Dick Crispo, Emy Ledbetter, Rollin Pickford, Alan Masaoka, folks from the Peninsula Potters, folks you've never heard of, a veritable smorgasbord of behind-the-scenes creativity. Pacific Grove Art Center offers a tasty preview sampler in one of their galleries of each artist's work, opening 7-9pm Friday, Sept. 24, before you launch yourself into a fray, with map (see insert, this issue) in hand.
