Memorable moments at past installments of CSUMB’s President’s Speaker Series have included Pulitzer Prize-winning author Junot Diaz reading a bawdy piece of fiction and Native American writer Sherman Alexie’s plea to embrace your contradictions. For this year’s first event, the series has snagged Emmy Award-nominated actor Ed Begley Jr., who will speak about living an eco-friendly life. This is a guy who uses a bicycle to generate energy for making toast in the morning, so it should be both educational and entertaining. [ST]
