Malcolm Weintraub at Carl Cherry Center

Sculptor Malcom Weintraub has a thing for words. The Carmel-based artist, who’s exhibit opens tonight with a free public reception, seeks to connect
the cerebral world of words with the material reality of everyday objects: egg cartons, brooms, balls of twine. He finds parallels only an artist could,
and translates them into thoughtful, tangible representations of ideas, like the electrical currents that snap between synapses in the brain to create a
revelation. [MF]
5-7pm reception. Carl Cherry Center, Fourth and Guadalupe, Carmel. Free. 624-7491, www.carlcherrycenter.org.
