Featuring half a dozen local marine science professionals this six-hour symposium geared toward the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary delves into some of the fascinating natural wonders found right in our backyard. Talks include, but are not limited to the habits of California’s white shark population presented by Dr. Salvador Jorgensen of the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Humboldt squid’s northward invasion by Julia Stewart of Hopkins Marine Station and Dr. Michael S. Foster of Moss Landing Marine Labs speaking on the implications and biology of giant kelp—basically, a treasure trove of marine information and insight from some of the best scientists in the field, all presented at no charge.
