Words on Stage: Reflections at Indoor Forest Theater

This latest installment of the monthly program from the Pacific Repertory Theater's School of Dramatic Arts features Taelen Thomas' dramatic readings of poetry by Edward Lear and prose by John Steinbeck, while traveling troubadour MaryLee Sunseri sings musical ballads by Burl Ives. Both are locals with plenty of experience performing solo and together, as their followers in the area know well. Thomas powerfully brings literary characters to life onstage as a seasoned orator, actor, poet and storyteller with a resonant delivery. Sunseri, a singer-songwriter with 16 recorded albums of traditional and original songs to her credit, will reflect each reading with a song or musical interlude in a series of vignettes. As the Words On Stage program has been well received by full houses so far, this performance should be no exception. Donations at the door are appreciated. [JCL]
