"The Shape of Things" at Western Stage

So in addition to the WS theater company's opening of Let the Eagle Fly, about Cesar Chavez , the youthful and streamlined season of the new 2x4 company is in full effect, juggling multiple plays. This one, by Neil LaBute, is, as one would expect from Neil LaBute, a scathing and funny story about a college couple—he conventional, she provocative—and the evolution of their relationship, which is reflected off their relationship to another couple. Anyone who's been in a relationship will recognize some touchstones. Pay attention, too, of the music between set changes—it often comments on what you've just seen. [WR]
