Holiday music is often the first sign of a coming Christmas season. They start pumping the cheery, clinking tunes into shopping malls and gift shops the day after Thanksgiving and play it incessantly until the ball drops and Auld Lang Syne takes over. It can only be tolerated for a month, and even that may be a stretch. That's probably why the CSUMB Music and Performing Arts Department chose to put their winter concert in early December while tolerance for the iconic music is still high. The Concert and Jazz Band join the university's Gospel Choir and Small Vocal Ensemble for an afternoon of classical and contemporary holiday music. Don't worry, December 4th is two weeks earlier than the earliest documented holiday-music induced breakdown.[RP]
