The Enchanted Island's very own star Joyce DiDonato hosts the debut screening of Faust in Monterey County. Directed by Tony Award winning director Des McAnuff, the nearly four hour film embarks on a journey of a man's encounter with the devil. Taking place in the early 20th century, Faust includes actors Jonas Kaufmann, Russel Braun and Rene Pape, as well as countless others. Kaufmann stars in a twisted love story about boy meets girl. Two intermissions break up the intense long scenes, allowing attendees a moment to grasp the content that is played. Encore screenings are available in few theaters around the United States the following day. [MY]
