National Commander Fang Wong at American Legion

Between visits with troops in Afghanistan and addressing Congress to ask for better veterans' service, National Commander Fang Wong will stop in for dinner with Marina's American Legion post. Since he was elected to head the American Legion in September, Wong's lobbied for civilian training programs and jobs for vets, as well as better diagnosis and treatments for PTSD. "The toll of war does not end at discharge," Wong told a congressional committee, and he'll bring that messag to the Central Coast. [SR]

5pm social hour, 6pm dinner. American Legion Post 694, 694 Legion Way, Marina. $20, reservations required. 384-6616, www.redshift.com/~legion.
