If you haven't seen Tornado Rider front man Rushad Eggleston play the cello, get an early Christmas present for yourself and buy tickets to Hidden Valley Music Center on Friday the 23rd. Tornado Rider spins into Carmel Valley after having toured the US extensively in 2011. They'll be joined by local rocker Nico Georis and his band Sky Country. Eggleston, while impish in stature, plays the cello like he's possessed by the spirit of a classically trained cellist gone rogue, or even haywire. Sky Country's Shaun Elley can purportedly play the drums and guitar at the same time, which is reason enough to spring for the cost of admission. These local bands are in demand outside the cozy confines of Monterey County, so catch them while they're here for the holidays. Advance tickets are on-sale at Mundaka in Carmel for $15, and $20 at the door if any are left. [GS]
