Garrison Keillor at Sunset Center

He has been parodied on the Simpsons, been the voice of Walt Whitman in Ken Burns' documentaries, and songs have even been written about him. Garrison Keillor is a magnetic story teller with voice that prompted Disney to hire to do the voice of Norse god Odin in the animated kid show, "Hercules." Listening to Keillor is experiencing America, as he tells stories from the fictional town of Lake Wobegon, where the citizens are all capable, beautiful, and attract a listenership of 4 million people across America every Saturday. His shows starts at the Sunset Center at 8pm, and those tickets do go quickly. Keillor makes a stop in the Monterey area once or twice a year, and he is a popular draw every time. Tickets range from $68-150; the VIP ticket for $150 includes a meet and greet and champagne reception with Mr. Keillor. 8pm. Sunset Center, San Carlos at 9th, Carmel. [GS]
