This organ-based trio comes at you funky in the spirit of jazz and groove-jam bands like Galactic, Bonerama and Maceo Parker. 7come11 lay down vintage-style Hammond organ, southern-sleek slide guitar and tight-knit percussion with cool panache. Along with its heap of originals, the Santa Cruz outfit puts its eclectic, funky spin on tunes like Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song” and Dr. Lonnie Smith’s “Play it Back.” When listening to the band, it’s easy to wonder how so much sound can come from only three musicians.
