Lively, flowing beats parade into Pacific Grove this Friday night with the Brazilian drums and dancers of the Sambahemians, who will set Chautaqua Hall ablaze in this Mardi Gras celebration that doubles as a fundraiser for the people of Haiti. The weekly Freestyle Dance Jam is, like always, alcohol and smoke free, but what’s lacking in bacchanalia will be more than made up for by Carnival’s most important ingredients: sweat, smiles and shaking money-makers.
