New Exhibit at Pacific Grove Art Center

This exhibition of four new shows is big enough to contain shows within shows. Like the Tribute to the Monterey Bay Fishermen: It features paintings by Mark Farina and Terrence Zito, historical photos from the collection of 37-year local archival image collector Pat Hathaway, and, on the opening night Friday Feb. 25, a book signing by From Fisherman's Wharf to Steinbeck'c Cannery Row author Randall Reinstedt and a talk by local historian Tim Thomas. Other galleries hold valuables like Rumiko Okkerse's East-meets-West encaustic paintings of Transcendence; NJ Taylor's surreal oils, pens and inks of The Moon and the Tree, and the photographs of the Pacific Grove High School Art Program students. The opening is bolstered by the gongs on of the P.G. Wine, Art & Music Walk outside, which starts at 6pm; PGAC's opening is at 7pm. Synergy. [WR]
