At the nubile age of only 27, Josu de Solaun has already been hailed one of Spain’s greatest pianists; recently, he won the prestigious José Iturbi International Piano Competition. Conductor Max Bragado will lead the third concert of the Monterey Symphony series through an elaborate musical landscape highlighted by Rachmaninoff’s notoriously challenging “Piano Concerto No.3 in D minor, Op.30” and teen composer, Gabrielle Haigh’s, “Symphony No.1.” (See Music story.)
