Meet the Author Series @ The National Steinbeck Center

Born in Oklahoma and transplanted to the San Joaquin Valley as much of his family before him had been during the Great Depression and Dustbowl days, Mike Martin knows the story of a family uprooted better than most. This installment of the monthly series will invite visitors to chat with Martin about his writing, procedure and life. My Indian Territory School and Bryant: A Creek Indian Nation Townsite are both stories delving into the migrant experience into which John Steinbeck himself once delved with his classic Grapes of Wrath. Narrated presentations by Martin will also give attendees an insiders look at the authors experiences and inspiration. [JE]
