Mike Brandon's—the quirky and energetic Mystery Lights frontman—new solo project Big Black Eyes, doesn't stray far from the mid-sixties sound of the Kinks and the Stones. And that's a good thing because he does it very well. The kid demonstrates that he doesn't need a full band playing behind him while he frantically jumps around on stage; Brandon does just fine on his own. [AJ]
